6 -- Astrobiology Missions on Small Satellites, Sounding Rockets, and Balloons.

TUESDAY, April 15, 2008: MORNING

Orlando Santos
NASA Ames Research Center
Moffett Field, CA, USA

Description

The session will focus on the development of missions consisting of payloads that can be flown on small satellites, sounding rockets, and balloons in support of Astrobiology Roadmap goals and objectives. We will include reviews of previously flown missions, the capabilities of the various platforms, technology development, and proposed future missions. Reviews of the various programs that fund these missions will also be solicited. Examples of the types of science that these platforms can support include astronomy, biology, astrochemistry, and technology development.
