Registration for AbSciCon 2008
ONLINE REGISTRATION IS CLOSED
REGISTRATION AT THE CONVENTION CENTER WILL BE $500
The international astrobiology community is invited to register for AbSciCon 2008, April 15-17. Standard and student registration are open through March 31, 2008.
Who Should Register:
One registration form, including payment information, must be submitted per person. All attendees, including government employees, are required to register, and to pay either the Standard Registration or the Student Registration as appropriate. Guests are required to register as attendees. There is a 30 minute time limit to complete and submit your registration information, so please have your credit card number and contact information ready.
Government employees who would like to pay for their lunches please request a Lunch Order Form from abscicon@seti.org. Lunches will not be available unless paid for in advance.
Those not ordering lunches will have to choose a "Dietary Preference" on the registration page for the process to continue. Sorry for the inconvenience.
How to Register:
Registration is via an online form managed by SPORG.

Standard Conference Registration Fees:
Through March 31, 2008 (on-line): Standard, US$400
April 1 through April 11, 2008 (on-line): Late, US$450
On-site, US$500 April 14 - 17, 2008
Student and Post-Doc Registration:
Eligibility: Full-time undergraduate and graduate students, and recent post-docs (PhD within past 3 years) are eligible to apply for reduced registration. Post-docs are required to have submitted an abstract for the meeting. Student registration is $200. Post-doc registration is $300.
How to register: Use the “Student/Post Doc Registration” form, rather than the “Standard Registration” form. Reduced registration is available until March 31, 2008. We anticipate supporting at least 200 student/post-doc registrations. Please be prepared to provide the name and email address of your advisor or current supervisor who can confirm that you are a full-time student or recent post-doc.

Payment:
Payment may be made electronically by Master Card or Visa at the time of registration (preferred), or by an institutional check or money order. Registrants electing to pay by check or money order will receive an electronic invoice with terms of payment following confirmed registration.
Conference Food Services:
Morning and afternoon beverages, rolls, fruit and cookies, and the Tuesday evening reception are included in registration.
Pre-paid box lunches (deli sandwich, salad, fruit, desert, and beverage) can optionally be added to the cost of registration at $10 per day. The purchase of box lunches is strongly recommended due to the limited availability of dining options at or near the conference venue. Lunch options within close proximity to the convention center are limited to a few (expensive) hotel restaurants; fast-food shops are approximately 1 mile away. Please note, in addition, that meeting day lunch periods will be occupied by poster sessions and other events.
