Low Cost Housing at NASA Ames Research Center

           The discounted rooms at the Holiday Inn Santa Clara, have sold out. There are
           still rooms available at the rates $179 - $239 per night. There will be courtesy shuttle

           service from the hotel to the convention center.

 There are two hotels in the immediate vicinity; the Hyatt Regency Santa Clara, which is
adjacent to the convention center, and the Hilton Santa Clara, which is located across the street. They are not offering special rates for our group.

Low-Cost Housing at NASA Ames Research Center

NASA Ames Research Center offers rooms at the “NASA Lodge” http://naccenter.arc.nasa.gov/lodging.html

There are two types of student housing at NASA Ames Research Center:

  1. The NASA Lodge: Building 19: $55 per night (current price)
  2. Student Housing: Building 583 A & B: $45 per night +$5 per person additional—$25 per night per person (current price)

NASA Lodge:
These moderate-cost accommodations are suitable for single occupancy or for couples as each room has one bed. These rooms have air conditioning, TV, carpets, phone jacks, wireless internet, private bath, and internal doors. AbSciCon 2008 has 30+ rooms reserved for conference attendees.

Student Housing: Building 583 A & B

For shared, low-cost housing, the NASA Lodge offers shared rooms in a nearby facility (Building 583 A & B) that is commonly used as student housing at Ames Research Center. These rooms have ceiling fans, tile floors, two double beds, private bath with each room, and external doors. (Air conditioning is not needed in April.)
